Electrical Lead Designer
ADMARES is industrializing the manufacturing of homes. Together with our partners Porsche Consulting, MHP – A Porsche Company, Siemens, and EDAG Group, we are developing an industrialized home-manufacturing technology where buildings are designed, engineered, and produced with the same discipline as industrial products. Electrical and building automation systems are a critical part of that equation.
We are looking for an Electrical Lead Designer to join our team in Turku, Finland.
As Electrical Lead Designer, you will have the ownership of electrical and building automation design across ADMARES’ Smart Building products. In this role, the main task is to ensure that the electrical components and systems in ADMARES’ products are fit-for-purpose, suitable for industrialized serial production, code-compliant, and commercially efficient. You will have technical authority over these systems, and the work tasks may range from independently designing and assessing components, equipment and systems to overseeing own or subcontracted designers’ work with electrical systems, as well as co-operating with suppliers’, clients’, and building authorities’ system specialists.
You will act as ADMARES’ technical expert on electrical and building automation systems, and will have a chance to define how the systems are designed and installed for scalable, factory-based production of homes, using advanced manufacturing processes.
Responsibility areas
- Full responsibility for electrical and building automation design and systems in ADMARES’ products
- Conceptualizing, dimensioning, and designing electrical and building automation systems for factory-produced homes, either independently or in co-operation with other designers (including managing of subcontracted work)
- Defining electrical solutions that can be standardized and are suitable for assembly line -type serial production
- Acting as technical expert for electrical and building automation systems, components, and solutions
- Supporting sourcing and procurement by assessing technical feasibility of suppliers’ products
- Working closely with production and industrialization experts to ensure manufacturability
- Participating in R&D and product development initiatives
- Planning, leading, and guiding electrical designers in larger projects
- Continuously improving technical solutions by following industry developments and assessing stakeholder feedback
What we expect from the candidate
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification and experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in electrical design
- Experience from designing electrical systems for residential buildings
- At least some experience from building automation systems and components
- Proficiency in electrical design and engineering tools
- Ability to familiarize with international building codes and requirements
- Ability to produce technical documentation and specifications
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, international environment
- Solution-oriented mindset with good innovation and problem solving skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Willingness to take initiative in a fast-moving development environment
- Experience with industrial or modular products is a major advantage, as is knowledge of modern industrial production and assembly methods.
