Structural Engineer

ADMARES is industrializing the manufacturing of homes. Together with our partners Porsche ConsultingMHP – A Porsche CompanySiemens, and EDAG Group, we are developing industrialized home manufacturing technology where buildings are designed, engineered, and produced with the same discipline as industrial products. Structural engineering is a core enabler of product quality, safety, and production efficiency.

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team in Turku, Finland.

As Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for structural design and engineering across ADMARES’ Smart Building products, ranging from individual components to complete building-level assemblies. Depending on your background and experience, emphasis of the role may be more biased either toward design or calculations/analyses, but an ideal candidate would be able to independently perform sketching, basic design, and at least preliminary sizing of parts, members, assemblies, and structures. 

You will work closely with other engineering disciplines as well as with production and procurement to ensure that structural solutions are technically sound, code compliant, manufacturable, and commercially efficient.

Responsibility areas

  • Developing structural parts, systems, and assemblies in ADMARES’ Smart Building Products 
  • Depending on your background, performing and documenting structural designs, calculations, and analyses, or, working in co-operation with structural analysts 
  • Ensuring structural solutions meet product, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with other design disciplines (such as architecture, building services) to support integrated product development
  • Participating in R&D and product development initiatives
  • Co-operating with procurement and production teams to ensure structural solutions are fit for factory production, and that technical requests from production are assessed 
  • Continuously improving structural solutions by following industry developments and assessing stakeholder  feedback 

What we expect from the candidate

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering
  • Minimum of three years of experience in structural design or engineering 
  • Experience from steel structures is required, especially from light frame structures using cold formed profiles. We do not use timber or concrete in our builds. 
  • At least some working experience with strength analysis and structural calculations (the job description can be adjusted on this one, based on your background) 
  • Proficiency in structural design and engineering software tools
  • Ability to familiarize with international building codes and requirements 
  • Ability to produce technical documentation and specifications
  • Ability to  work in a cross-functional, international environment
  • Solution-oriented mindset with good innovation and problem solving skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Willingness to take initiative in a fast moving development environment
  • Experience with industrial or modular products is a major advantage, as is knowledge of modern industrial production and assembly methods.
